Before the test
- Confirm the buyer platform, protocol and test account.
- Confirm the Shopify store and buyer-specific collections or catalog access.
- Agree which products, prices, quantities and references should appear.
- Confirm the expected cart return, approval and PO behavior.
- Record the buyer contact and the person who can investigate failures.
Test the PunchOut session
- 01
Launch
Open the supplier catalog from the buyer procurement environment.
- 02
Authenticate
Confirm the buyer reaches the intended store and catalog scope.
- 03
Shop
Add representative products, quantities and variants required by the buyer.
- 04
Return
Send the cart back and confirm it appears in the buyer review flow.
Test approval and order creation
- 01
Approve
Complete the buyer-side approval path for the test requisition.
- 02
Receive the PO
Confirm the approved purchase order reaches the supplier connection.
- 03
Create the order
Confirm the related Shopify order is created after the PO arrives.
- 04
Review invoice activity
Check the invoice stage and confirm any buyer-specific delivery requirement.
Record evidence and failure points
Save the buyer, store, catalog scope, timestamps and transaction reference used for the test. If the flow stops, record the last completed stage and the reason shown rather than describing the problem only as "PunchOut failed."
Repeat the test after correcting the configuration. A new buyer or additional store needs its own connection and validation even when it uses the same Shopify operation.
